How to use this sheet

Write each player's name at the top of a column. Each hand is a hole. In six-card Golf, everyone lays out six cards face down in two rows of three and turns any two face up.

When a player has turned all six cards face up, everyone else gets one more turn, then all cards are turned over and scored: Ace 1, 2 is minus 2, 3 to 10 face value, Jacks and Queens 10, Kings 0. Two matching cards in the same column cancel out and score 0. Write each player's total in that hole's row.

After nine holes the lowest total wins. For a full eighteen, choose 18 under Holes on the online sheet, or in Customise to print an 18-hole sheet.

Three players, hole 1

Ana: K, 2, 5 over K, 3, 5 (Kings and 5s pair)1

Ben: 7, Q, A over 9, Q, 4 (Queens pair)21

Cleo: 2, 6, J over 8, 3, 1035

Ana is one over par; Cleo needs a better hole

Golf card game questions

How do you score the Golf card game? At the end of each hole, players add up the cards in their grid: Ace 1, 2 is minus 2, 3 to 10 face value, Jacks and Queens 10 and Kings 0. A pair of equal cards in the same column scores 0. The lowest total after nine holes wins.

How many rounds are in a game of Golf? Nine, one for each hole, just like a round of golf. Some groups play eighteen holes; the online sheet and the custom PDF both offer 18.

Why do 2s score minus 2 in Golf? It is the most common rule: 2s are the best cards to hold. Some groups make Jokers minus 2 instead, or play with no negative cards at all.

Do Kings count as zero? In most versions, yes. A King scores 0, so a pair of Kings in a column is still 0. Some groups score Kings as 10 like the other face cards.

What happens when a player turns over their last card? Each other player gets one final turn, then everyone turns over any face-down cards and the hole is scored.

How many people can play Golf? Two to four with one deck, and up to eight with two decks shuffled together. The online scorekeeper takes up to eight players.
